I haven’t always made photographs. Although I’ve always had an artistic streak, I didn’t come to photography, in a serious way, until late 2017.

At that time I had rediscovered my love of being in Nature. I was hiking my local Forest Preserves regularly, enjoying the calming effects of the serene woods. I contemplated getting a camera to capture all the natural grandeur. My mind was made up when I had a very close interaction with a young doe on an off-trail path and no photos to prove it.

I researched cameras and found one I could afford. I was soon obsessed with shooting as much of the woods as I could with my new camera. My skills grew as did my pile of equipment (and credit card balance.)

The rabbit hole of photography videos, social media posts, and tutorials is vast and deep. I consumed as much information about as many genres as I could find, and it was a lot.

One of the genres that especially intrigued me was Real Estate photography. The process was fascinating. Of course, this led to the even more artistic realm of architectural photography. This was of special interest to me as I had, in my younger years, wanted to be an architect.

After investing more money and time into yet more gear, more tutorials, and practice, I’m now able to hang out my shingle as a professional interiors and architectural photographer.

We live in a Universe of Abundance. I truly believe the purpose of life is to create and nurture. For some people, this is starting a family, for others, it is creating art, growing a garden, caring for a pet, or inventing new useful products.

These things bring us joy. Joy is an expression of Love and Love is the most powerful force in the Universe.

What is all this hokey BS and why is it on this website about Interiors Photography?

Well, the obvious bit is that if you’re on this site you are a Creative of some kind; whether an Interior Designer, an Architect, or a Builder. You know the satisfaction and joy that come from your hard work. We have that in common.

I don’t know about you, but when I complete a project, a photo of a property, and I’ve got it just as I envisioned it, I get butterflies in my stomach. I can’t stop looking at and admiring my work. I made that place look great! And now, my client can share their creation whether for recognition or potential new business.

Lately, I keep hearing the expression, “A rising tide lifts all boats.” Your success adds to my success adds to your success; hers, his, and everyone else’s. This is abundance. This is creation and nurturing. This is the meaning of Life.
